About Thailand Biennale
Throughout the five-month duration of the Thailand Biennale, events will also be held in collaboration with local communities. This will include musical performances by hill-tribe groups, film screenings and seminars. In addition, over 30 artist studios in Chiang Rai will open their doors as part of the Open House project.
Thailand Biennale is an event arranged by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC) under the Ministry of Culture. Unlike many other biennials around the world, Thailand does not use one location, preferring instead to bring the event to different provinces. The inaugural event was held in Krabi in 2018 with the second edition hosted in the north-east province of Nakhon Ratchasima in 2021.
