Krabi is a region that is renowned for its beaches, islands, and dramatic scenery. Increasingly, it has also become a corner of Thailand that is synonymous with green escapes and a destination for wellness holidays.

Whether you are seeking a digital detox, a quiet retreat, or need some precious ‘me time’, Na Sook Wellness Resort is one of many resorts in Thailand which are ideal for travellers seeking rest, reflection, and reconnection. By promoting slower travel and mindful consumption, family-owned Na Sook aligns with broader efforts in Thailand to develop tourism that benefits both visitors and destinations.
The Krabi Prototype
Thailand is intensifying its efforts to promote sustainable travel, with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) at the forefront. TAT is encouraging hotels and stakeholders in the tourist industry to do more through various initiatives, including the ‘Krabi Prototype’, a flagship model for sustainable tourism development.
Happiness in the present
Na Sook Wellness Resort is owned by Pim Taecharachkij. Speaking to Fan Club Thailand, Khun Pim explained how the resort came into being. “The idea of Na Sook and ‘the ideal place to live’ was something that my mother and I had frequently spoken about. We opened Na Sook, and it organically grew into a wellness resort and became everything we hoped it would. The word na (ณ) means right now, here, in the present, and the word sook (สุข) means happiness, so happiness in the present; to be mindful that happiness truly exists in the present.”

Relax amidst nature
While peaceful and secluded, the resort is not isolated. Krabi Town, natural attractions, and coastal areas remain within easy reach, making it possible to combine a wellness stay with light exploration. This balance makes it ideal if you want tranquillity without being too remote. Bicycles can be hired to explore the area, and Ao Nam Mao pier (for boats to Railay Beach) is a 10-minute walk away.

The first thing that guests comment on is the beauty of the natural surroundings, the sound of birds, crickets and the wind in the trees. We embrace nature, and we live with respect for it.

The comfortable villas are designed to make the most of the natural surroundings. The resort grounds back onto the Ao Nam Mao coastline, and preservation of the mangrove forest is an important part of Na Sook’s environmental work. Khun Pim explained, “We’re currently working with a few organisations to restore the mangrove and seagrass coastline of Krabi, starting with a mangrove and seagrass nursery here on our land.”
Wellness as a way of life
Khun Pim says, “We believe that wellness is a way of life that we can learn, so we also offer workshops to share our knowledge based on four aspects of wellness: food as medicine, restorative living, mindful movements and being one with nature. We also grow our own food and herbs, so the fresh organic Thai food we serve is something guests look forward to.”

Farm to table
Food plays an important role in the Na Sook experience, but without strict rules or restrictive diets. Meals are designed to be nourishing, fresh, and satisfying, supporting energy levels and overall well-being. The Na Sook menu features dishes that reflect southern Thai cuisine with many ingredients grown in the resort’s organic garden.

In Thai culture, food and medicine are deeply connected. Herbs, vegetables, fruits, and plants native to the southern Thai region have long been used to nourish the body and support overall health. This ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants has been preserved at Na Sook, allowing the resort to offer not only rare traditional dishes, but also a deep understanding of the health benefits of every ingredient they grow on site.
Table to farm
As a forest property, Na Sook generates a large amount of organic waste, particularly fallen leaves. Beyond composting, the resort repurposes teak leaves by turning them into natural plates used for food packaging. Designed for single use, these leaf plates can be returned directly to the forest or added to compost, where they break down naturally without causing any environmental harm.
Composting plays a vital role in the food and waste cycle. Na Sook collects food scraps and organic waste from across the property and transforms them into nutrient-rich soil using two different composting methods. This sustainable approach allows us to grow food throughout the landscape, regardless of terrain, while closing the loop between waste and nourishment.
Find your own rhythm
Na Sook embraces a holistic philosophy that views wellness as more than spa treatments or fitness sessions. The focus is on nurturing the mind, body, and emotions together, encouraging guests to adopt healthier rhythms rather than rigid routines.

There is no pressure to follow an intensive programme. Instead, visitors are invited to engage at their own pace, whether that means joining a morning yoga session, spending time in quiet reflection, joining a cooking class, or simply resting. This flexible approach makes the resort welcoming for both wellness beginners and experienced retreat-goers.

Book a stay at Na Sook Wellness Resort
If you’re seeking a lively atmosphere, Na Sook is not for you. Head instead to Ao Nang. However, if wellness is your main focus and you want a genuine eco-friendly escape, Na Sook could be ideal.

Accommodation at Na Sook reflects the resort’s overall atmosphere. Design is clean and uncluttered, prioritising comfort, natural light, and a sense of calm. Rather than flashy décor, the focus is on creating spaces that encourage rest and good sleep. Privacy and quiet are key features, making the resort particularly appealing to solo travellers, couples, and guests staying for longer periods.
The resort thoughtfully provides bungalows suitable for disabled travellers with wheelchair access, suitable shower amenities and a larger space inside the villa.

Krabi itinerary ideas
Although Krabi is a year-round destination, the most popular time to visit is between November and April. With Na Sook, the focus is on nature and relaxation, so a stay during the green season (May to October) can also be a great time.
Spending at least five days at Na Sook provides the opportunity to properly relax and destress. A stay here can easily be combined with an itinerary that includes laidback Ko Lanta or the serene Trang Islands.
