In this edition of our Itinerary Ideas series, the focus is on luxury. We’ve taken the classic two-week Thailand itinerary and sprinkled it with some added opulence. This route will allow you to discover different areas of the country in style, with time in the city, the countryside, and at the beach.

For this two-week holiday, we suggest something like this:
- Bangkok: 3 days
- Chiang Rai: 3 days
- Khao Sok: 2 days
- Southern Thai island: 6 days (depending on the month you visit, staying either on the Gulf Coast or Andaman Coast)
Bangkok
Even for repeat visitors, the ‘Big Mango’ is never boring. While the Thai capital has plenty going on, it’s also home to numerous high-end hotels where you can unwind in quiet luxury away from the bustle.

Thai islands
To round off this itinerary, spend some time relaxing on one of Southern Thailand’s gorgeous islands. Thailand is an all-year-round destination, and we’ve included options on the Andaman Coast and Gulf Coast to cover you no matter what month you visit. The Andaman Coast is ideal for a beach holiday from November to April, while the Gulf Coast is a good choice from May to August.
Andaman Coast: Ko Yao Noi
There are lots of options for luxury stays in the well-known resort areas of Krabi and Phuket. However, for this itinerary, we’ve plumped for the delightful, laid-back island of Ko Yao Noi.

Located in Phang Nga Bay, approximately halfway between Krabi and Phuket, Ko Yao Noi is a quiet island with no mass tourism. There are, though, several exceptional hotels for discerning travellers who want to enjoy tranquillity without foregoing home comforts.
9 Hornbills Tented Camp
Perched on a peaceful hillside, 9 Hornbills Tented Camp offers just ten luxurious tented villas, each boasting sweeping panoramic views over the iconic limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay. The camp takes its name from the hornbills that frequent the area.
