Chiang Mai hot air balloon ride

This bucket-list trip with balloon flight and luxury spa treatment is exclusive to guests staying at Villa Mahabhirom and includes:

• Transport to balloon take-off venue

• Scenic hot air balloon flight (approximately 1 hour flight)
• Champagne reception after landing

• Complimentary drop off service (within Chiang Mai city) or back to Villa Mahabhirom resort

The price is 13,500 Baht per person (inclusive of service charge and taxes) and this is valid until December 23, 2020. Please note this is not a private tour and there will be others joining you for the balloon ride.

All the balloon flights are operated by experienced and fully qualified pilots who hold a commercial pilot’s license. The balloons are legally registered in Thailand and as such are checked by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand. As an extra safety feature, every balloon flight is under the supervision of the Chiang Mai airport control tower. The hot air balloon will fly at an approximate altitude of between 150-600 metres. This is the optimum height for enjoying the panoramic views and being able to pick out details and sights of interest below.

What to bring

Although temperatures can sometimes be cooler in Chiang Mai and north Thailand, the tropical sun remains strong. There is also additional heat generated from the balloon burner. Wear comfortable, but loose fitting clothing suitable for the heat and practical footwear (not flip-flops). It’s also advisable to bring a hat and sunglasses. Make sure your camera or phone is fully charged for all those photos and video clips you will be taking.

How to book

Flights operate all year round, but are subject to weather conditions on any given day. This unforgettable experience can be booked by guests staying at Villa Mahabhirom. Bookings are required a minimum of 72 hours in advance. A 100% cancellation fee will apply if cancelled within 5 days of the confirmed booking.
