It’s no secret that Thailand continues to be one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the world. And with amazing scenery, charming hotels and incredible food, Thailand serves up all the right ingredients for an unforgettable romantic dining experience. From Chiang Mai to Phuket, we have the lowdown on six of the most romantic and private places to share a special meal for two on your next trip to Thailand.

Chiang Mai: Four Seasons
Overlooking the hotel’s own rice field and with views of the Chiang Mai mountains beyond, Khao by Four Seasons is a delightful location for a romantic meal. Open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, Khao offers the refined luxury you’d expect from Four Seasons. Lunch and dinner menus serve up classic northern Thai food with a contemporary twist. Feast on signature dishes like khao soi gai (northern style yellow curry with egg noodles and chicken) or moo dam yang nam prik ong (grilled black pork with northern style tomato chilli dip). With fabulous food and an exquisite setting, Khao by Four Seasons in Chiang Mai is an ideal location for foodies and romantics.

Khao Lak: The Sarojin
There are so many romantic dining options at this picture-perfect boutique hotel located on the quiet sands of Khao Lak on the Andaman Coast. Perfect for a surprise proposal or a special anniversary, The Sarojin offers ‘Just for 2’ private dining in the setting of your choice. Travel in style on The Sarojin’s private yacht and allow yourself to be ‘shipwrecked’ for the evening on a secluded sand isle where you will dine under the stars gazing out on the Andaman Sea. Or you can choose a special dinner served in your own pool island pavilion or private sala. Enjoy a fabulous barbecue for two on the beach with your own private chef or let the staff at The Sarojin pack you a luxury picnic for your own adventure as you explore the local beauty spots. But our personal favourite is the jungle waterfall experience where you will be served delectable Thai cuisine in an Instagram-worthy setting.

Ko Kood: Soneva Kiri
For a dining experience with a difference, travel to beautiful Ko Kood (also written as Ko Kut) on Thailand’s east coast. This delightful island is the setting for the luxurious Soneva Kiri and their amazing treetop dining venue. Take a seat in your own private bamboo pod while you are gently hoisted up amongst the tropical treetops of the Ko Kood rainforest. Relax and enjoy the views from your birds-nest shaped vantage point before your meal arrives courtesy of your specially trained waiter who acrobatically arrives on a zipline. It’s a memorable experience and the food more than lives up to the high expectations.

Menus are suitably described with courses including Canopy Canapes, a Forager’s Basket and Woodland Offerings. If you select the main dining option, you will stay amidst the treetops admiring the views and enjoying the food for two hours. If you like the idea, but would prefer a shorter time in the air, opt for an equally romantic breakfast or high tea instead, which will give you one hour in the treetops. However long you stay, this experience will be a definite talking point when you return home.

The treetop pods are closed at certain times of the year for regular maintenance and safety reasons. Please check directly with the resort if you are planning to visit.
Krabi: Rayavadee
Gorgeous Phra Nang Beach in Krabi provides the setting for romantic dining at The Grotto. Part of the luxurious Rayavadee resort, The Grotto sits under an ancient limestone cliff which, combined with the sea breeze, provides a natural way to keep you cool as you enjoy the tasty food and sublime views. This is the most casual spot on our list and offers a relaxed vibe for light, lunchtime meals or an early evening dinner. The Grotto’s laid-back atmosphere is ideal for couples who just want to linger and enjoy the romantic setting. Bring a book and chill out or sip on a cocktail and watch the sunset over the Andaman Sea.
