Do you want to purify your mind? Come to the White Temple - its colour represents the purity of Buddha, with glass inserts reflecting his wisdom. A privately owned art exhibit, it was conceived with the intention of encouraging visitors to focus on the internal, rather than external possessions. Like if this is what you need in your life.

Blue is a hue that's ever-present in Thailand. It's the colour of the sky (most of the time), the sea, and here it's the theme for a temple, representing purity and wisdom. If you think it has similarities to the White Temple you'd be right. The structure was designed by Putha Kabkaew, who studied under the White Temple's creator. Comment if you'd like to see it in person.

A relaxing holiday in Thailand doesn't have to mean beaches and palm trees. Head inland where you'll find lush mountainous landscapes, ancient jungle and forestry, lakes and rivers. Being surrounded by trees is known to decrease cortisol and blood pressure and help to balance blood sugar. So come for the medicinal benefits, but stay for the scenery, warm hospitality and incredible food. Share with someone you think would benefit from a break like this.

Are you in need of some good luck? Pay your respects at Wat Tha Mai, a temple just a little off the beaten tourist path. Found in Krathum Baen, Samut Sakhon, it's a regular haunt for Thai celebrities looking to make merits to Buddha and have their fortunes told. You'll find a number of bulls living in pens on the edge of the site - buy some grass to feed them and it's said you'll be bestowed with good fortune.
